Day 21: Jose

March 21, 2018

Oct 8, 2017

Jose
oil on panel, 8"x8"
Available for reservations.

I know this may be redundant to hear, especially since I'm marrying the guy, but I really do believe that Jose is the kindest, gentlest, most humble soul there is on planet earth.

Like seriously, how did I find someone like him? I feel like such a pagan when I'm around him sometimes. Maybe it's because I'm what he calls an insane "wild spirit" and he's my calm "grounding rock."

But he really is. He calms me. He pushes me to soar after my dreams. He spoils me to pieces. He always, always makes sure there is a big smile on my face. He constantly showers me in besos. He puts on music and dances with me, it's our thing. He's always searches for what is best for me. He puts everything aside when I absolutely need him. He gives me back scratches every morning and night just so I have a few relaxing moments in the day. He stays up with me as I paint, always so excited for me. And there is so, so much more to this list, definitely not exhausted.

Jose shows his love for me every second of every day; it's really quite remarkable how a human like him exists.

I love him. And I tell him in return that I vow to love him in the same way or more than he loves me (although he always tells me that more is impossible; we are always in competition on this).

For example, I was getting so annoyed with the table seating chart for the wedding reception. I literally almost had another wedding freak out spurred by it. He noticed this, put down everything he was doing, took me out for a walk outside, and when we came back after a slice of pizza and a boba, he sat down with the seating chart and tackled it head on. I was so impressed with the ease and calm he worked on it. I did help sort tables and people out throughout, but there are some things that I couldn't imagine tackling without him.

Yes, the table seating chart for the wedding is small in comparison to more serious things in life. But, it's so true: I couldn't imagine tackling life without him. He's legit my person in all senses of the word "person."

Once the seating chart was figured out, Vika and I were busy writing name cards and pulling them together. Out of the corner of the room, Jose comes out of the bedroom wearing his full on wedding suit. You guys, he looked SO handsome and so beautiful all at once.

Seeing him dressed in his full outfit really got me thinking: I'm marrying HIM. Screw the freak outs and nervous breakdowns, I get to spend my entire life with a beautiful man. Pinch me.
