I have always loooooved getting my hairs cut!
People always laugh when I say "hairs" in the plural. To me it has always made more sense to say "hairs" instead of "hair." Because there is more than one "hair" on your head. And you're not going to say "I got my follicles of hair cut today," right?
Getting my hair cut is the best.
We timed it perfectly 1.5 weeks before the wedding to make sure my ends were fresh enough but not too static. I also tinted my hair so they would match the hair extensions that I will be using the day of the wedding.
You heard me, hair extensions.
My friend Molly will be doing my hair the morning of the wedding (THANK YOU sooo much!) and she insisted on hair extensions. I was iffy at first, but I'm so happy I ended up going to the depths of the Western Addition to get them. I feel like a Pantene commercial every time I wear them (I've been wearing them off and on to get used to the weight before the wedding, it's been breezy). No joke.
Every time I go in for a hair cut I sit at the same stylist chair, put on the black robe in the changing room, and sip on some complimentary green tea (it's delicious). It's seriously a spa day whenever I go in. My stylist Bridget gives THE BEST head massages when washing your hair, and she's the best stylist I've ever had working on my hair. Long story short- if you need a new hair stylist in San Francisco, hit me up and I'll connect you. She's the best.
When I sit down with my tea, I always catch a glimpse of this little reindeer hanger holding a black face mirror. It's super cute, so I decided to paint it today to chat about my wedding hair. I used blocked patterns and swift strokes to give the painting a more cartoon feel to it. Something about this reindeer made me not want to make it too realistic; it was already too serious as is.
